Last week was fairly productive. I was able to complete the star quilt, photograph it, and get it shipped off. I'll be posting pics after the quilt has been gifted. I cut some of the sashing strips for the Brick Wall quilt commission and plan to finish the rest this week. I transformed one stack of waiting blocks into a quilt top and hope to get the back pieced this week.
I was also able to complete a couple of blocks for the Knoxville Modern Quilt Guild's next charity quilt. Aren't these 4-Patch Butterfly blocks cute?
My guild mate, Elizabeth, has a great tutorial for them on her blog, Inspire Me Grey.
I was also able to complete the February blocks for the Patchwork Quilt Along.... Er... let me rephrase that. I was able to complete some blocks for the Patchwork Quilt Along. I was supposed to make Window Panes but was distracted by Grey's Anatomy. It was the one where Denny dies. Sigh...I just love me some Jeffrey Dean Morgan. It was hard to concentrate with him bein' all sexy with THAT LOOK and all. So I made Shoo Fly blocks instead of Window Panes...and since I like Shoo Flies a lot better , I'm leaving them as is.
I'm finally using some of my long-hoarded Chicopee fabric for this quilt. I love the way the prints pop against the Kona Bone I'm using for the background.
I still need to photograph and list the two finished quilts from last year and I hope to get that done this week. The weather and I are on different schedules. It seems as if whenever I have time, it's dark and dreary outside. Oh well, hopefully I will have better luck this week!
My goals for this week:
